Essential oils are naturally occurring, aromatic compounds which are found in seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other parts of plants.

Essential oils give plants their distinctive smells, protect plants and play a role in plant pollination. Essential oils are beautifully fragrant and have been long been used in food, beauty treatments, and health-care practices.

Essential oils can be used for personal beauty/skincare, natural medicine and emotional support, among so many other uses. They can be used aromatically, topically and even internally (certain oils can be ingested if they are therapeutic grade).

Essential oils have been used throughout history for their medicinal and therapeutic benefits and have positively changed my life.

Essential Oils can be used in the following ways:

Aromatic

The aromatic application is the most widely known and used. Some essential oils, when diffused, induce uplifting or energizing effects, while others more calming. You can achieve the same benefits of diffusing by placing a few drops of essential oil in the palm of your hand, then cup around your nose as you breathe deeply. I love diffusing essential oils, I have them going at my office all day!

Topical

Using essential oils topically is a very effective method. This is because essential oils have low molecular weights and are lipid soluble, meaning they can easily penetrate the skin. I apply essential oils daily and have truly benefitted from using them this way.

Internal

Certain essential oils have a rich culinary history and can be used as dietary supplements for targeted wellness. I take certain oils internally every day too!

Make sure you are getting top of the line essential oils. I personally get my oils from doTERRA.

I did a LOT of research on essential oils and found that doTERRA oils are grown and sourced from areas of the world that are their natural habitat. doTERRA oils are 3rd party tested to ensure the quality and purity of their oils and they 100% guarantee that their oils are pure – they are never diluted or cut.

I love using doTERRA essential oils and I’m excited to share all this with you because I absolutely believe in the benefits of essential oils.

I hope this blog can be an inspiration for you to get healthy and know that there is a lot of support and information out there to help you do so!
